Promoting Soccer and Reuniting Friends- 2019
As a professional female footballer, Francisca Mlumun Ordega through the Francisca Mlumun Ordega Foundation (FMOF) organized a female football tournament that was held December 21 to 23, 2019. The aim was to encourage female participation in the game of football.
Altogether, six teams participated in the tournament. For the teams that participated, the jerseys they wore during the tournament were donated by the FMOF. At the end of the two-day soccer competition, a decorated trophy was won and many other prizes were presented to those deserving including the Most Valuable Player (MVP) smiling home with a pair of boots.
As a well thought out plan to reunite with old friends, the FMOF organized a one-day football jamboree that was tagged “Makurdi All Stars”. The match was played on December 4, 2019 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
The match was played between male and female All Stars – comprising those who were team mates at various times to Francisca Ordega. Notable names on female side were Cheren Iveren, Sandra Chichi and Judith Agber. All these were team mates with Francisca during her days as an upcoming star with Invincible Angels Football Club, Gboko.
Those who played on the side of the males included Musa Najiri, Terhemen Lyam, Kpotu amongst others. It was a brief, entertaining and reuniting match.
